My name is Beverly. I'm a native of Connecticut and moved to Arizona in 1974. I decided to start a blog to honor three women in my life; my Mom and my two Grandma's. They absolutely influenced who I am as a woman. Growing up I can't remember a time when I wasn't in the kitchen helping. My parents felt that the girls in my family needed to work in the barn and learn about farming equipment and the boys needed to learn to cook. Needless to say, my two brothers and two sisters are great, practical cooks.
So what could I possibly have to "blog" about? In 2010 I decided I needed to make a change in my life so I left an organization I had been with for 23 years. I had no idea what a change looked like, I just knew I needed a change. I made the commitment to reconnect with myself and begin to explore doing more of what I loved. During that transition one of my staff, Mindi, suggested I start a blog ~ that way I could share recipes, share my travel adventures, share crafts, etc.
What have I learned so far? I love to cook, bake, eat, decorate cakes and cupcakes, try new recipes, style my home, craft, garden, volunteer, make chocolates, paint (walls and anything else), connect with friends and family and TRAVEL.
So I will use this blog to share recipes (we all love to eat!), what I'm involved in, what projects I'm doing in my home and where my next travels take me (each year I try to attach myself to a medical group as a volunteer on medical missions) and even books I've read. Feel free to share comments with me.
To my Mom and my Grandma's - thanks for being the best role models ever. Watching each of you and your strength during various times of your life instilled courage, confidence, kindness and compassion in me. I feel each of you beside me every day.
Blessings ~ Beverly

Beverly, those of us with strong, loving women as mothers and grandmothers, supporters or role models, are truly lucky indeed. And yours have served you well, as I know no one with greater kindness, compassion, and courage than you (and our dear friend Natalie). I look forward to your blog updates.
